Jay LaSuer for Sheriff

Jay believes that the most important aspect of a person’s quality of life is the knowledge that they and their family are safe from criminals.  Citizens must also know that if they are the victim of a crime, law enforcement will not rest until the criminal is relentlessly pursued, arrested and jailed.

Jay also believes that law enforcement must use new and innovative crime fighting tactics to stop crime even before it happens.

Jay believes children have a God given right to be safe in their homes, in school, in a park or playground and when on the streets of their community.  Predators who would molest our children must be immediately arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

Jay believes that senior citizens have a right to be safe from con-men and thugs who would harm them simply because they think senior citizens may be an easier target for crime.

Jay believes that a family’s innate right is to be safe from harm brought against them, their homes or their property by criminals.

Jay believes that violent crime must be solved immediately.  He believes that violent crimes should never become “Cold Cases”.

KIDS, GUNS AND CRIME FACTS
from http://www.pulpless.com/gunclock/kids.html

There are 44 million LEGAL gun owners in the United States

Here's what a 1995 federal study investigating juvenile crime found after looking at 20,000 randomly selected households:

Relationship between type of gun owned and percent committing street, drug and gun crimes.

Illegal gun:
Street crimes = 74%
Drug use = 41%
Gun crimes = 21%

No gun:
Street crimes = 24%
Drug use = 15%
Gun crimes = 1%

Legal Gun:
Street crimes = 14%
Drug use = 13%
Gun crimes = 0%

"The socialization into gun ownership is also vastly different for legal and illegal gunowners. Those who own legal guns have fathers who own guns for sport and hunting. On the other hand, those who own illegal guns have friends who own illegal guns and are far more likely to be gang members. For legal gunowners, socialization appears to take place in the family; for illegal gunowners, it appears to take place 'on the street.'"

"Boys and Girls who own legal firearms have much lower rates of delinquency and drug use and are even slightly less delinquent than nonowners of guns."
